PART 1
So, there I was on a phone call with Ronald and Cara that had me just yearning to scream. Have you ever been in a conversation with someone who was so broken and frustrated that they just could not see clearly? This young couple was caught in the Foreclosure Process and boy oh boy were they stuck. They were so stuck that they simply couldn’t see clearly. If their eyes could have been opened they would have realized that they were relating to their foreclosure problem in a very powerless way.
I wished they could know that solutions to their problem lay all around them but they couldn’t know that without my help. I began by sharing the truth. I knew I had to say something that would get their attention and so I started by saying something totally shocking. I said “The truth is there are no problems in life, there are only challenges that need to be handled and managed!” Well, that was like throwing gasoline on the fiery flames of their foreclosure crisis. They ignited in a fury of anger and suspicion. How do you feel about your foreclosure situation? Do you see it as a major problem in your life or as a challenge that needs to be managed? If you’re stuck in foreclosure or overwhelming debt or facing any other kind of crisis, I suggest you take a minute and read the rest of this post.
I’m going to say somethings that desperately need to be said and frankly there may be nobody else who can say it but me. First, there are four things I want you to examine within yourself as you read this post. And I’m going to deal with one of these questions in the next four posts. 1. What false relationship have you established with your problem? 2. What is it that has you stuck in the foreclosure process? 3. What is the truth about your situation while going through the foreclosure process? 4. What is possible because of the foreclosure process you are in that was not possible before? Okay, so I know you’re probably wondering what all this has to do with finding a solution to the foreclosure problem you’re facing?
You may even be tempted to quit reading this post and leave this blog altogether. Consider that most other blog’s or websites you visit continue to offer you solution after solution to your problem. But here right now in this post on this blog I take a giant and bold step. In many ways it is a giant leap. And if you’re willing to journey through this conversation faithfully with me I promise you will get some tremendous breakthroughs.
So, let’s begin with these thought provoking questions I’ve thrown at you. Question: What false relationship have you established with your problem?
After, talking with literally hundreds of individuals who have faced foreclosure in the last few years I’m more certain now than ever before that the first thing anybody must do in order to get out of foreclosure.. is examine what their relationship to the foreclosure is? In that examination you will most likely notice that you relate to the foreclosure as if it were a “Problem.” Most people even choose to call it a “Problem.” Some go a step further and call it “My Foreclosure Problem.” So, now you see they totally own it. Pretty soon everybody in their world relates to them like they “Have a foreclosure problem“ or like they are “Stuck in the foreclosure process.” Or like they are indeed powerless and helpless and stuck because that is exactly how they have created themselves to be and so that is how they relate to themselves and it is also how they teach others to relate to themselves.
I challenge you right now to recognize that you have most likely set up a false relationship with your foreclosure problem and I suggest you realize immediately that you need to get off it. That’s right, “Get off it!” The moment you drop the notion that you have a “foreclosure problem” and that you’re stuck and helpless and powerless and can’t get out you will begin to breathe a new kind of atmosphere. I promise you, it will be like you’ve been totally transformed into a brand new creature.
- So, drop the notion that you have a problem.
- Drop the emotional attachment of pain and frustration you’ve invented to go along with that notion.
- Drop the game of hiding from your creditors and bill collectors and lender.
- Drop the pretense that you have no power and no abilities and that there are no solutions.
- Drop the belief that there was nothing you could have done that would have allowed you to avoid this situation.
Trust me amazing things start happening when you start relating differently to your foreclosure. So, how do you relate to foreclosure problem other than “this is a problem?” Here are four ways you can adopt right now:
1. You’ve been relating to your foreclosure as though it should not be. What you’ve missed is that “if it should not be then it would not be!” Start right now to relate to it as if it very well should be. Recognize that you created or allowed for the creation of this foreclosure experience in your life. And therefore, you have the power to create or allow for the creation of a solution to the foreclosure.
2. Embrace the thought that “You yourself are not in “Foreclosure.” Your house is in foreclosure. You yourself are still totally free. The bank may be seeking to take the house away but nobody can possibly take you away. You are totally and completely separate from your house and you have a power that your house does not possess.
3. Start considering yourself as incredibly powerful. Now ask yourself the question “How would someone who is truly powerful act and behave in the midst of this foreclosure situation? Recognize that you may be find yourself taking on a whole new way of behaving and thinking once you take on being different in the midst of the foreclosure situation.
4. Ultimately, seeing that the foreclosure is not a problem and your financial situation is really not a problem at all allows you access to seeing something that is even more powerful. The foreclosure is really just something that needs to be managed. The debt is something that you need to be responsible for and you have chosen to be that.
Now, you can begin to relate to this in a brand new way and you can expect to get totally different and brand new results in the process. Now, that you’ve read all the content of this post, I’m going to share with you what I want you to do next. Now, I must add that at the end of this four part series of post on “How Do You Relate to Your Foreclosure Problem?” I’m going to invite you to participate in a brand new product and opportunity where I will actually set myself up to work with you on a closer relationship basis to help you find and access new solutions to stopping the foreclosure and starting to build wealth.
