Changing Your Life to Stop Foreclosure?
Sure you can! It’s just one suggestion but it’s a great idea. Why not choose to make drastic changes to save your credit, save your dignity, save your money and equity and avoid foreclosure? You may say “well what can I change”? The answer is simply one word. Everything! Yes!
Sometimes changing our lives completely is overlooked simply because we’ve grown comfortable and accustomed to living a certain way. But, if life isn’t working out for you the way you’re living it right now then why not change it?
Today CNN hosted a story about how many Americans have chosen to change their lifestyle to dodge hefty gas bills. In the midst of this enormous gas hike they have chosen to adapt and change. Isn’t that a powerful choice? They are not complaining and crying and saying “it shouldn’t be this way.” They are changing and doing so dramatically.
Some are taking public transportation, others are car pooling, and still others are riding bicycles. Some are walking or even changing their jobs to ones where they can work from home. America is changing its lifestyle to accommodate higher gas prices. This is a powerful way to live because it employs the human ability to adapt.
Likewise, for anybody who is facing foreclosure and wants to get out, a willingness to change one’s lifestyle can be a powerful attitude supporting a clear mapped out plan for stopping foreclosure and starting to build wealth.
By being willing to make adjustments to one’s lifestyle whether these adjustments are small or large, simple or complicated, one can emerge from today into the sunshine of a brighter and better tomorrow.
It is the believe that we cannot change that has us moored to our low and dismal places. Is it that we not that we have never known that change was possible.
We were all born with the capacity to change, to adjust and to adapt. So, no matter how old or young we may be, we still have latent memories of changes we have made or experienced that gave us a vastly different life.
In fact if we really tell the truth about ourselves the life we are living now is a life we “changed into”. Just look at all the dynamic changes we have adapted and adjusted to. We have changed from children to adults.
We may have changed from uneducated to educated. We may have changed from smokers to non-smokers or drinkers to non-drinkers. We may have changed from single to married or vice-versa.
Our bodies have changed dramatically since the day we were born. Our ideas have changed. Our understandings and perspectives have all changed. Our age is changing constantly along with our feelings and emotions.
The cells in our bodies change day by day and our relationships with family and friends, associates and partners is constantly undergoing review and change.
So, the truth is we are not foreign to change, nor are we adverse to it except when we are faced with changes we did not expect, initiate or desire. Isn’t it the that we seem to become most resistant to change? Don’t we feel uncomfortable when outside forces press us to change and naturally respond by resisting?
But, by resisting we add power to the force that is asking for change and we cause it to live more vigorously and cause more pain.
Sometimes the best way to solve a problem is to embrace it and not resist the call of that problem for change. Instead of holding on to what you know and clinging to what has been why not use your problem as an exploration room where you can examine what changes you can make in your life?
The power of change is that it carries the greatest capacity to give you a new life. I like the quote from Jim Rohn. He says, if you want life to change for you then you must change! Wow!!! This is powerful and potent in terms of its impact and meaning.
For sure life is constantly changing all around us. Won’t you agree that nothing remains the same? But what many fail to understand is that for us to stay within a changing world and not make changes to ourselves is for us to merely let life happen to us. So most of us are taught that we cannot stop or alter the life that is going on around us.
The Sun, Moon and Stars, move as though directed by a force other than us. All nature appears to be on a course all its own without any desire to ask our opinion or be influenced by our will.
The world pretty much does its own thing regardless of our whim and fancy. It rains when it will and snows when it will. The wind blows when and where it will and none of these entities asks our permission. Life is just a series of on-going events that are happening all around us and seemingly in spite of us.
So many muster much strength to try to change the world around them. Some seek to adjust the weather and change the atmosphere or the landscape.
Some seek to change governments and masses of people through protests and complaining. Still others seek to change their circumstances or through negotiations, talks, politics, or even war.
So while on one hand we are not strangers to change, on the other hand we have resisted change except when it comes to the world around us. Isn’t it then that, we embrace it and love it and even demand it?
But for us to demand that the world around us change while we ourselves remain the same represents the heights of foolish folly. It would mean that we become the helpless, powerless victim in the stream of life.
In order for the world around us to change into a greater reflection of the type of life we want then we must change ourselves. Don’t ask for life to be easier, ask for more skills.
Don’t ask for less problems, ask for more wisdom. Don’t ask for less challenges, ask for more power. By focusing on the changes we can make within ourselves we discover a powerful force for molding and shaping the world around us.
What to change when in foreclosure or debt and seeking to create wealth? There is so much we can change when facing financial difficulties. And every change we make gives us a brand new opportunity for living life a different way.
We can change our attitude our perspective our understanding our desires and our goals. We can change our lifestyle, our vocation, our personality and our self image. There is really nothing we cannot change the moment we recognize that we changed it at one time in the past into the way it is now.
But how do you go about changing the things you choose to change? All change becomes possible when “what was” dies, dissolves or disappears and something new is offered to take its place. Many people experience great difficulty changing because they are unaware that you cannot remove a “way of being” or an “attitude” or a “certain behavior” or a “mentality” or an “action” from its place and leave an empty void there.
Nature abhors a vacuum and soon such empty places will be reclaimed by that same or similar entity that was there before you changed. True change can only happen if you replace what held that space with something brand new.
You can replace poverty with wealth, ignorance with knowledge, foolishness with wisdom and powerlessness with power. But you cannot leave empty spaces or voids in your life for then your change would be ineffective.
When is the right time to change? Now! Every time and every moment is the right time and moment for change. Many have the mentality that they must wait for the right time or wait for conditions to be right. Conditions will never be :right” and there is no right time.
There is only now! Can you see that waiting for another moment is really waiting to fall victim to the illusive lie of “Someday”.
Most of us are caught in the lurid and misguided trap of “Someday”. When you come to understand that there is no “someday” you will realize that “today” is the “someday” you have been waiting for all along.
If you are going to change your life or adopt a new lifestyle or start saving money “someday” you must start doing all those things now. Don’t wait for the conditions to be right and the circumstances to be different. Do it right now.
